Welcome
Pink Shield is, as a voluntary group, a non political Forum which exists to promote a better understanding between the LGBT Community and West Midlands Police, and other agencies of the issues facing LGBT people. Pink Shield will work to progress a safer and healthier quality of life by tackling homophobia, Hate Crimes, Domestic Abuse, and other issues in Partnership with the aforementioned organisations.
Welcome to the online home of Pink Shield (formerly The Birmingham Police Forum for the Gay Community) Our group is run by volunteers from the gay community for the benefit of all within the gay community.

We have developed strong working relationships with the police & venue owners within the gay village, and we are striving to make our streets safer for gay people to use, not just in the city centre but the whole of Birmingham. We are making contacts with friends from around the region to develop our work.

We are really excited with the recent successes in working with the Police and City Council, particularly the installation of a help point right in the centre of Gay Village - providing a means of summoning help quickly if needed.

If you would like to know more about our group, the work we do and our plans for the future, please contact us.

Stay safe,

Angela
Chair of Birmingham Police Forum for the Gay Community.
